We bumped into a Lockhart River local who asked us if we had seen a Palm Cockatoo yet. At that point we had not, so he mentioned that they were eating in a Nonda tree in his front yard every morning about 7am.
The next morning we travelled from Portland Roads around to Lockhart River and had magnificent views of these prehistoric-looking cockatoos as they ate Nonda fruit.
